Robotics Laboratory Development
Apptronik developed the robotics laboratory at Huston-Tillotson University. Our work helped to enable Huston-Tillotson to be the first HBCU in the country to offer an advanced robotics cirriculum. Our team worked on everything from curriculum development to lab and equipment design.
Apptronik has experience developing a variety of multi-DOF robotic testbeds. These testbeds enable clients to learn and experiment with advanced technologies, such as new actuators and controls before moving on to more advanced systems. Here we show a prototype robotic leg aimed at advancing high power high efficiency robotic locomotion. It uses a combination of newly developed viscoelastic liquid cooled actuation, optimized kinematic linkages, and advanced embedded algorithms to safely sustain high speeds with a test 20lb payload.
